Short version: our calculators run on your own device, so the details you type into them never reach us. We do show ads through Google, and Google uses cookies to do that. Here's the full picture.
What happens to the numbers you enter
Every calculation on CalorieCalculatorTDEE.com happens inside your browser. Your age, sex, height, weight, body fat, activity level and goal are not sent to us or stored anywhere. Close or refresh the page and they're gone.
Information we collect
- Emails you send us. If you write to [email protected], we get your email address and whatever you put in the message. We only use it to reply and to fix problems you report.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider automatically records basic technical details for each visit, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs keep the site secure and running, and are deleted on the host's normal schedule.
- Advertising and analytics data. Google and its partners collect some information through cookies when ads are shown. See the next section.
Advertising and cookies
We use Google AdSense to show ads. This is how we keep every calculator free.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to this website and other websites.
- Google's advertising cookies let Google and its partners show you ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- You can turn off personalized ads from Google in Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some other vendors' personalized ads at aboutads.info.
- To learn more, read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, you'll be asked for consent before personalized ads or cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Ads will still appear, but they may be less relevant to you.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people find useful. It gathers things like pages viewed, time on site, the type of device and the general region you visit from. It doesn't tell us who you are. For visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies stay off until you agree to them. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Sharing your information
We don't sell, rent or trade personal information. Apart from the advertising and analytics services above, we'd only share it if the law required us to, such as in response to a valid court order.
How long we keep things
Support emails are kept for as long as we need them to help you, and generally no longer than two years. Cookie data is controlled by Google and other vendors under their own policies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including the EU, the UK and California, you may have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. California residents can also ask us not to sell or share their personal information. Email us and we'll respond, normally within 30 days.
Children
This site is meant for adults aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Links to other websites
Some pages link to other sites, such as official health guidelines. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we aren't responsible for how they handle your information.
Changes to this policy
When we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
